ABOUT

Aditya Sharma is an Indian composer currently based in Cambridge, England. While active in a variety of genres, Sharma particularly enjoys writing vocal music. He has always maintained an interest in the expressive potential of the human voice and is keen on exploring ways to incorporate his cross-cultural influences into his musical language.

Sharma completed his undergraduate degree in music from Elmhurst College (USA). He received graduate degrees from DePaul University (USA) and the University of Cambridge (UK), both on full-tuition scholarships. His teachers include Dr. Mark Harbold, Dr. Seung-Won Oh, Dr. C.W. Jones, Dr. Osnat Netzer, and Tim Watts.

Sharma’s music has been performed by the Grammy-nominated Kontras Quartet, the Elmhurst College Concert Choir, the University Chorale at the University of Washington, Ensemble 20+ (DePaul University), the Fidelio Trio, and, most recently, the Cambridge Voices, who premiered his choral work titled “Hope is the thing with feathers”, set to a text by Emily Dickinson.
